Ever since I was a little kid I’ve loved Oreo cookies. Well… I love chocolate in general, but when it comes to cookies, cakes, brownies and such I sometimes can’t control myself.
When I became a vegan I thought I wasn’t going to be able to eat these chocolate goodies anymore. Then I found out Oreos are, indeed, vegan. I became addicted. I know Oreo cookies are not really as addictive as a drug, but I do believe that once you eat one it can be very really difficult to not eat another, and another, and another. I know at least for me it is.
After reading this article from CNN I realized it wasn’t just something I made up in my head; these cookies really are addictive. And this is why I don’t keep Oreo cookies in my house.
PS. I realize that the study completed for the CNN article was conducted on animals, and even though I don’t support animal testing at all, I felt it was necessary for me to link this article in order prove my point about chocolate addictions.
